Noir at the Bar - Washington, DC

What's Noir at the Bar?

It originally started in Philly as the legend (and my hasty Internet research) states, and quickly spread nationally. The popularity is easy to explain: writers who specialize in crime fiction come to a bar, drink, and take turns reading short noir stories to fans of the genre. The event has happened all across the states, but weirdly, never in Washington, D.C.

That changes on July 27. That night, in the upstairs room at Wonderland Ballroom, ten writers will launch Noir at the Bar in Washington, D.C. The ten writers who are going to do their damndest to kill your soul are:

Nik Korpon

Steve Weddle

Art Taylor

Alan Orloff

Meredith Cole

E.A. Aymar (hey, that's me)

Thomas Kaufman

Don Lafferty

Tara Laskowski

Michael R. Underwood

Click on the names above to learn more about each writer. And you can find interviews I conducted with Nik, Art and Steve on the right sidebar.

In addition to the readings, there will be door prizes given out throughout the evening, books for sale, people to meet...and FREE booze!*

So, folks in or around the D.C. region, we hope to see you on Sunday night, July 27th, at the Wonderland Ballroom.

Stories start at 8 PM.

The booze is not free.
