Now On Etsy!

Lately, in my spare time, I’ve been working more than ever with parachute cord, or paracord. It’s fun, attractive, and functional.

Parachute cord 550, the material I craft with, is made up of 7 strands woven together, and covered with an colored slip. Each of those 7 strands holds up to 50 lbs of weight, and the colored slip holds an additional 200 lbs. So paracord 550 will hold a combined weight of 550 lbs!

This makes the bracelets and keychains not just an attractive accessory, but great survival gear. Everyone in my family carries something made of this material now, just because you never know when it might be useful. The attractive design can be easily unwound if necessary! Some of us carry keychains, several of us have bracelets made of paracord, and my daughter’s bookbag is even decorated with paracord attached to the zippers!
