Amber Neko Meador is an author, filmmaker, digital artist, and podcast host of Transiton Transmission. Amber grew up in the fundamentally conservative SouthEast, deep in the the Bible Belt. A devotee of George Lucas, the Wachowskis, Masamune Shirow, Robert Heinlein, cyberpunk, and science fiction, Amber has made several independently produced films, including Night of the Living Catgirl. Once Amber had completed a project of its size, she realized there was one more thing she needed to create...a new identity, an identity she had never fully allowed herself to envision. In 2008, Amber began the process of transitioning from male to female. Since that time, Amber has become active in the transgender community, created the Transition Transmission blog, produced over 50 episodes of TrTr podcast, and has documented her entire journey online. Just a short time ago, Amber completed her collection of transgender speculative fiction, Other Selves.
