Here is a revised description for my latest novel Dividers:

Jacob awakens on the floor of a bar in Brooklyn, New York. He is high on heroin, and remembers leaving a little girl buried alive just hours ago… The young man is jolted back to reality, despite his drugged state, determined to save the girl, and learn the truth about what drove him to such madness. As a young billionaire living in Manhattan, he is not without his demons. Jacob’s mother was abducted twelve years ago, leaving him emotionally damaged, and vying for revenge against his mysterious father. Calbraw Senior is a billionaire as well; a man of many vices who is trying to turn his life around through sobriety and charity. Despite his father’s sudden rebirth, Jacob surmises that five years of penance cannot undo twenty years of debauchery and selfishness. This causes the two men to have at one another in brutal and costly ways, leaving a wake of destruction for those in their employ. Will they reconcile the past, or both perish at the behest of the other?

A silent enemy is forming an army just north of Central Park. He is a man of science, badly scorned by the wealthy members of society, having suffered tragic losses due to corruption and privilege. His singular mission is to destroy the foundations of modern monopolies, and to bring an end to the tyrannical practices therein. Although his mission gains him many allies, there are dozens of enemies hidden in the shadows, and the advent of ‘dark money’ often leaves him facing an insidious betrayal. The wealthy members of society are protected by an extreme group of people who are willing to die for the chance at a comfortable life. In the throes of such an impoverished city, people go to extraordinary lengths, exhibiting almost superhuman determination, in order to receive the pleasures of their wealthy benefactors. This makes the battlefield a horribly dangerous place, where men and women hold nothing back to protect what is theirs, or to battle for what they lost... Dividers sets a course to deliver the most satisfying ending readers could expect from such an enriched tale.
