If you could go back in time and kill Hitler as a baby, would you? What if you were told at the time of your son’s birth that your child would destroy the world? To protect humanity, would you destroy that child?
When a child fails, we all ask where the parents were. We blame the child’s shortcomings on the mother, the father, and what they allowed their child to be exposed to. But is it always the parents’ fault? What if they tried and their child didn’t listen? Or what if one parent tried to teach their child and the other parent could not or did not? Who is at fault then?
Similarly, is it God’s fault when we fail? Is it his fault that bad things happen when we don’t listen to him? Is it his fault for allowing us to not listen to him?
It all comes down to what we see as truth and what we accept in our hearts as reality. We have a choice about what we perceive the truth to be and what we accept as reality. Sometimes, the two do not always match up. They become a dilemma that we do not want to face.
Gandhari had to face this struggle every day as the Queen of Hastinapur.
