In a lot of ways this story is my baby. It reminds me so sharply of my life, of my hometown, that I feel deeply connected to it. I grew up in a place like Mayville, not in New York, but in the place where the Mid-Atlanta meets the Mid-West. The mountains and the fields were my playground. My teacher.
This story is very much inspired by that.
The love story, well, it it is the kind of love story we can all understand. The one that got away. Especially now with Facebook, twitter, and other forms of social media, we can watch them grow older and wonder "what if".
Thane and Mackenzie aren't wondering what if. They are battling the what ifs right there in my story.
Please give it a read.
