Did you know .... ?
My release "Risks Incidental: Supernatural Dangers of Paranormal Exploration" is NOT just for paranormal researchers and enthusiasts! The title, "Risks Incidental" is borrowed directly from the seminal work of master Occultist and psychologist Dion Fortune "Psychic Self-Defense." In speaking about ritual and ceremonial magick in particular, Fortune discusses those "risks incidental" to occult practices - risks that, unfortunately, far too many paranormal researchers and teams fail to take into account, often at tremendous personal cost.
The entire book is framed on real-life "close encounters" with the supernatural realm - my own experiences, as well as things experienced by some members of my extended family are included in the book.
Woven through this framework are occult traditions and what these traditions can teach us about all of our most familiar ghosts and monsters - revenants of the dead, monstrous beings, Angels with an agenda of their own, daimonic spirits, and those beings of immense antiquity, the Arch Demons of the Infernal Realms.
In addition to a peek into my own past that (I believe) puts one directly into my own life story, the reader will take away a deeper understanding of the traditions, beliefs, and practices that lie beneath the current pop-culture paranormalism, beliefs that will endure long after the trending shine has dimmed.
