One of the unexpected joys of writing 'The Buttercup' are the letters I have received from members of the older generation, who have fond memories of the Buttercup shops in their heyday. I received another this morning from a lady who was evacuated to Leith during the war.
For them, it is much more than a story, and brings back happy memories of their youth. I hadn't expected this response when I wrote the book, but they lift my day and give me much more pleasure than sales figures.
