Brendon & Carson's Ninja Training and Adventures: Brendon and Carson's Ninja Adventures, Volume 1 is a children's and preteens' book written by Rod P. Stoner. The book contains an interactive action and adventure tale that presents the reader with puzzles and mazes, introducing him or her to martial arts study and terminology. Through solving puzzles, the reader helps B & C, two aspiring ninjas, learn their skills and get their black belts. Then there is a test they must pass, a quest to fulfill, and a rescue operation to test the skills of the aspiring ninjas and the reader. The reader's challenges consist of crossword puzzles, large and intricate mazes and word search puzzles.
Rod P. Stoner's Brendon & Carson's Ninja Training and Adventures is fun and challenging. It also introduces martial arts to young readers in an entertaining and exciting way. Stoner sets out the prime elements of martial arts, which are both spiritual and physical exercises, and he introduces the martial arts basics and weapons training that a young student would learn in a dojo. Stoner uses word search puzzles to introduce new terms and aid in retention and memorization. The martial arts crosswords, which most kids and adults, I suspect, will have to cheat a bit on, use descriptions of martial arts movements as hints and introduce even more martial arts information. The mazes are quite challenging and help increase concentration. All this, and an exciting action and adventure tale as well. I enjoyed Brendon & Carson's Ninja Training and Adventures, and it's got me seriously thinking about checking out my local dojo. This could be a life-changing book for the right kid, or, for that matter, adult.

Brendon and Carson's Ninja Training and Adventures Volume 1 by Rod P. Stoner is an interactive book. It's not just a story though; it is also a puzzle book, designed for kids of all ages, even those who are just young at heart and not age. Brendon and Carson must solve a series of puzzles in order to stop Bad Boys Inc. from going after the Grandmaster and attempting a takeover bid of the whole world. With your help, they can win. Solve the puzzles correctly to be able to move forward in the quest to win in the age-old battle of good vs evil. Especially suitable for those who do martial arts training.
Brendon and Carson's Ninja Training and Adventures Volume 1 by Rod P. Stoner is the start of an entire series of adventure books, interactive ones that help kids learn as well as enjoy the story. I thought the illustrations were excellent, the instructions were dead easy to follow and, yes, I admit I thoroughly enjoyed it - it does no harm to regress to childhood every now and again. Mr. Stoner has a winning formula here and I hope he can retain it. It makes a refreshing change to see books where children can take part and influence the outcome of the story, rather than just reading something that is totally predictable. Excellent book, really enjoyable, and the type of book I feel they should be introducing at schools to help kids learn about decision making and problem solving.
