The other night I was watching an episode of HOUSE HUNTERS on HGTV. I love House Hunters because, quite frankly, I'm nosy. LOL I love to see how people decorate, what's trending in kitchens and bathrooms, basically how the other half lives.

That night, the wife was looking for an older house...a house with good bones. She wanted pretty architecture, pocket doors and built-ins, the kind of stuff you just can't find in new houses. Houses that didn't yet have a story.

I smiled at that, then I suddenly realized it would be great if we felt the same way about people.

Wouldn't it be something if we looked at our older citizens as "having character"? Wouldn't it be great if we recognized age as giving someone experience? Wouldn't it be great if we sought that experience?

Just a thought.
