Too often in life, we dream of doing something that will breathe life into our souls but end up simply walking away. We get up to the edge of the cliff, confident that we are going to leap towards our dream, only to look down at the abyss below and let fear turn us away.
At eighteen, we were fearless. Partly because we didn’t know any better, and partly because life hadn’t yet beaten us down. But at thirty-six, we have the scars of life that make us more fearful, afraid to take the leap that could ultimately unlock our true purpose. The sins from our past hold us back from finding our best, most rewarding path. We are held captive by what we did or did not do, unwilling or unable to find or give the forgiveness that can set us free.
