Inspirations

It is amazing to me some of the things that can inspire one (like myself) to sit down and begin writing a manuscript for a book and then publishing it.

My first project, Fallen Angel of the Highway was born out of a request for a copy of a photo to use as a stencil for my next tattoo. Not just any tattoo, but a very special one. A commemorative tat celebrating the tenth anniversary of my dad's passing.

Celebrating the death of a loved one? Yes! I believe that when a loved one is terminally ill, death is what allows the one who is suffering and in pain to be released and begin a new life of peace, and without pain. That is where the celebration is. That is what you embrace.

Well a simple request for that photo led me down a path to something even more special and meaningful to me, my father's 1958 Harley Sportster XLH motorcycle that I had grown up on while riding with Dad as a child. I was given the opportunity to buy it back from Dad's best friend, who not only had a copy of the photo, but also the Harley that was in the photo. Of course, I immediately bought the motorcycle, and still own it to this day. It ended up being the inspiration for me to sit down one day and begin writing the manuscript for my latest book, A young boy's stories about Dixie, History of the Walter E. Peele Water Treatment Plant.
