Technical Difficulties... (technickych duvodu)
In this wonderful land of Prague-a-tory, the words 'Technical Difficulties', far from being a straightforward explanation for a likely complex situation which requires resolution, seem to be the harbinger of bad things. For example - any storefront that that displays a sign indicating it is "closed temporarily due to technical difficulties" is most certainly closed for good and will be vacant within a matter of days. Which makes me wonder.... Is is possibly 'taboo' to say that a store is closed for good? I think this idea strains credibility; given the generally bitter/pessimistic/sardonic attitude of Czech citizens, it would seem unlikely that they would attempt to shine people on about going out of business. So what then? Could it be that in every lease contract there is a clause that says something like "at termination of contract and or failure to pay, a sign indicating 'technical difficulties' shall be affixed to the front window and you shall promptly vacate the premises"....hmmmm? I'm scratching my head here....
Maybe if they close for 'technical difficulties' reasons (which are obviously beyond their control and therefore represent a Force Majeure) they are eligible for social assistance, government bailout, etc. Hey, I wonder if any of the robber-baron investment bank CEO's called the Federal Reserve bank indicated they were having 'technical difficulties' when they needed their financial bailouts after the housing crisis a couple years back? If so, maybe we should all start having 'technical difficulties' if that what it takes to get ahead in life?
Thoughts?
