"Ferret Fun"

Soooo, they say, "Write what you know."
I was verbally bullied from 4th grade all the way until 8th grade by a boy that lived near me in Pompton Lakes, NJ. (I don't even know if my friends from Pompton Lakes know who it is.) Every day on the way to and from school he would tease me. I still remember his name and I still remember everything that he said to me. But at least he didn't bother me once I got home. That was my "safe-zone." It is a lot harder to escape bullying today with social media. I would have been bullied 24/7.

My book, "Ferret Fun," is about bullying. The whole month of October is Anti-bullying Month, so on my website now is a teacher's guide about bullying (written by a social worker) anti-bullying worksheets, and anti-bullying coloring pages that go with my book, for all to enjoy.

Pam Miller Replying late date, I wanted you to know that after my daughter was made fun of for playing girls basketball (the first girls team at her school and pre Title 9). The next day, leaving morning Mass, she managed to trip the one boy who fell into the other boy. Her teacher did not reprimand her for standing up for herself.
She earned a basketball scholarship to college, became a high school coach, and now gives her son lots of pointers about his shot.
Stand Tall - I realize social media makes bullying easier than ever.
