Great Feedback from the Book Club

I loved the book club meeting where "Indelible" was the book of the month. Questions were as varied as the attendees. Readers asked about my research, and how I came to choose the names of the protagonists (I have always liked Brian, Swift came from the writer, Kaylen just came to me, and no, although I fleetingly thought maybe her mother was Kay and her father, Len, that wasn't the reason she has that name at all. Her father will feature in book 3, "Maine Issues," and he's a bit of a pill and named Preston.)They were interested in how I knew about boats, clubs, and many other topics. They didn't ask about how I wrote about people going into dark places and even darker situations. Perhaps they were afraid to find out the answers? They are all waiting for the sequel, "Swift Justice."

Bonnie Schroeder I wondered about the name Kaylen as well. Names are so important and sometimes tricky to get right. Kudos for going face to face with your readers! I have done that myself, and it IS often fun but a bit intimidating as well. Clearly you met with some perceptive readers!

Heather Ames Yes, and they really had read "Indelible" without skipping pages or rushing. Their questions were deep and thoughtful. I'd be happy to do more of these. Communicating with readers is one of my most enjoyable perks from being a writer.

I agree! I think it's the best part of the "marketing" phase.

Heather Ames The other thing I really enjoy is personalizing dedications for people who buy the paperback. I just did one today, for someone I know. Very special.
