My Death Day

It was January Three, 2205.
My bones had grown weak.
My vision was blurry.
But I was still active
On earth.

Earth was not what it used to be.
I told my great great grand kids about
Laptops, iphones, blackberrys,
GPS tracking dots.
They laughed me to scorn.

"Life must have been boring
For your generation."
My first great great grand son said.
"Believe you me." I replied.
"Cockamamie." They echoed!

I laughed!
I smiled!
I chuckled!
The Mona Lisa smile!
The angel-chuckle, the God-laugh.

I retired to my scriptorium.
I'm a fan of the conventional
Method of writing, pen to paper.
I scribbled it down.
All those I love.

Scribbling my last full stop
I was still, as I smiled.
I smiled as I recalled past memories.
I teetered towards the white light
On Thursday, Three January 2205.
