New Kindle Countdown Deal

Did you know this:

On a sunny day in 455 B.C., while walking on a beach under blue sky, the Greek playwright Aeschylus was said to have been killed by what probably was a bearded vulture who mistook the writer’s bald head for a stone and dropped a tortoise on it!

This and many other stories appear in Extraordinary Birds, which is Book 1 of my series SURFING A MAGICAL INTERNET.

Starting on November 13, 2014 and lasting for a week, the Kindle edition of this book is available at a starting price of 99 cents in the U.S. and .99 pounds in the U.K.

For more detail and to read excerpts visit www.surfingamagicalinternet.com. In the “Buy a Book” section, this site also shows that Amazon now provides a free Kindle Reader for most electronic devices and where to get it.

Lilo This is such a wonderful, antique collection. I must admit, however, that I haven't finished viewing and reading it yet, for the simple reason that I have a hate-hate relationship with my e-reader and haven't picked it up for quite a while.

Thank you, Lilo. I know what you mean, but one gets used to it. I just read 3 very good books entirely on my Kindle, Joachim Gauck's, Winter im Sommer, Fruehling im Herbst, Andrew Lam's, Two Sons of China: A Novel of the Second World War , and Anna Reid's, Leningrad: The Epic Siege of World War II, 1941-1944 .

If I weren't such a 105% computer-idiot, my e-reader might like me more. :-)

I have 200+ books on my e-reader but have only read a few because when it comes to pick a new read, I tend to grab for a paper book. (I better don't tell you how many unread paper books I have, or you might suggest that I commit myself to an asylum. :-))

Btw, I recommend that you check out all of Heinz Kohler's Xmas season bargain books, especially his (novel labeled) memoir "My Name Was Five". It was my favorite read of 2013. Here is the link to my review:
