YES YOU CAN write a book, here’s how!!!

Pcup-of-hot-coffee-10023309eople often ask me for advise on writing a book. Where should they start? Is there a magic formula?

My advice is no, there is no magic formula, and you can start anywhere. You see when it comes to writing, Nike’s slogan works best, “Just do it!” I know, as a first time writer, you wonder if you are ‘doing it right’, which brings me to my second point.

No one can give you feedback on an idea that is still in your head. So if you want feedback on your work, you have to write it down first! Then you can approach friends and family members and ask them to read it. That way, you will have an idea. I know this can be intimidating – to put up your work to be judged- but unfortunately that is the only way you can get feedback. And of course friends and family might not be objective but they can be the encouragement that you seek.

Also it is easier to write about something that you know, or something that you are passionate about. It’s no use to try to write about the Square Kilometre Array when you hated Physics and anything related to it. Pick a topic that will make writing not seem like a chore, and once you start – you won’t stop!

So, come on, take that first step.

At SC Publishing we can help you to get published. When your manuscript is finished,  contact us at info@segachris.co.za  for a publishing  quotation.

Happy writing!!!!
