You can go (on the website, not sure about app) on "Manage your content and devices", find the first book, click on it and then delete it forever from your device.

Then you can just go "buy" it again...

I know that I can do it this way, but I want to keep my old edition either! I have sentimental feelings about it :) But I can wait until it will be offered somewhere else, not only by Amazon, then I can have it in the both editions, officially! :)
