Always A Lesson To Learn In Writing Fiction

I am trying a new method with my writing. Usually, I have an outline, characters already formed, and then I just write strictly following the outline. I am very impatient. So, I write kind of fast because I want to get the finished product out to you as quickly as possible.

This time I am doing things differently. I am writing without an outline. I am letting the story form on its own and I am meticulously trying to build new characters as they appear. I think their background and their attitudes are truly important, and I am trying include those kinds of details in this new series.

Also, I usually write all the time. Now, I am learning to be patient and stepping away sometimes. New ideas come along much better that way for me I've noticed. I don't pound at the keyboard for hours on end now. I take breaks. I breath a little. I think about certain events. I mull over ideas, and I toss them aside if I feel it can't be built upon later.

I believe the reason why a book, from vanity publishers, take so long to hit the market is because of not only the editing, but the events, the details, and the ideas that go into a story. Some must be scrapped. Others must be added because it is a must to the storyline. Of course, I might be wrong about this, but I feel I am on the right track. Excellent creative fiction takes some work and some time by many individuals. With only me working on everything, I must put in that same work and that same time in order to bring out an excellent product. A first draft is not what you want to put out. It is only a foundation. That's my opinion, at least. I plan on bringing out some great stories, some better ones.

So, this next story I am writing is being crafted with patience, with a little sweat, and some creativity, of course. I hope this next book will not disappoint and actually surprise my readers.
Like I've written before, I am a work in progress and so is my craft. I hope you take this journey with me.

Much love,
BB
