Last night there was a heated debate. For Christmas Santa brought the first three episodes of Star Wars. We were watching Episode One when my wife Tara abruptly said that she would not let our son Tony study to become a Jedi Master.

Uh, what? So, you'd rather let our child live as a slave in a colonial backwater planet that is more or less a desert? I called her out on this, "that is child abuse."

I pointed out that in episode two Annakin's mother is killed by Sand People. Unless there is some way to cosmically know that your son will ruin the entire galaxy and become Darth Vader you have to let them go become Jedi.

Someone has to take a stand against this over compensating (s)mothering...needless to say, I slept on the couch last night. Namaste!
