My New Year’s Day Wish

UnknownOn this first day of the New Year, I find myself thinking about my friends. Any of you who’ve followed the blog know that I’m blessed to have some really fine people in my life. Writing a post thatcatalogsa bunch of silly resolutions strikes me as frivolous and self-indulgent. So, instead, I’d like to dedicate this post to my friends. You are all so talented and creative, so interesting, and thoughtful, and kind. I am in awe of your minds, and am deeply moved by the generosity of your spirits. I have learned from you, and laughed with you, and carry you with me every day. You have enriched my life in more ways that I can count, and I have donemy best to return the favor.

As we look ahead to 2015, a year that promises to be even more interesting, even more of an adventure than the year that just passed, I wish you good health, peace of mind, and fullness of heart. Most of all, I hope that you continue to live big and dream bigger. Beware of small thinkers, people who are content to live tight, narrow, circumscribed lives and insistyou do the same. Because that’s not who you are. You deserve so much more. Each of you, in your own way, has an eye for beauty, a voraciousappetite for life, and I am inspired by your relentless pursuit of it. Continue to be bold and passionate and courageous. Be uncompromising in your artistry. No matter what. And wherever you are–San Francisco or Berkeley, Santa Fe or NYC, Nashville, New Orleans, or Flat Top Mountain, know that I am thinking of you and wishing you all good things.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for everything.
