The Kirkus review is a positive review e.g.
'This fast-paced murder mystery is a well-executed blend of police procedural and amateur sleuthing.'
Having said that, like many other authors, I note that the Kirkus review is not a critical review demonstrating any insight, but essentially a re-hashing of the plot. This is not really helpful for a mystery / thriller....and the Kirkus review includes spoilers...
The only real comment or reflection by the Kirkus review on the book is therefore 'This fast-paced murder mystery is a well-executed blend of police procedural and amateur sleuthing.'
Accordingly as other authors have noted - the Goodreads reviews - by representative readers contain more reflection and insight than the 'professional' Kirkus one.
