If you like Southern Gothic genre, you will certainly like William Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily." It's literary and suspenseful and carries the flavors of historical southern family during Civil War time. Probably Faulkner's most popular short story. It's not supernatural but it is, without a doubt, horrific.
