Comfortable Shoes

It’s so easy to get complacent and stuck in a rut when our surroundings become common and familiar. We do the same old things day after day and nothing new seems to be happening. It’s like wearing the same pair of shoes everyday because they are comfortable.
We can become comfortable in life as well. But all of a sudden, God shows us a new pair of shoes.
They look good but stepping into them means leaving the old pair behind. What if they aren’t as comfortable as the old pair? What if we don’t want to leave our comfy shoes? We usually look at our comfy shoes in adoration but sometimes we actually turn them over to really see them for what they are. We see the soul is wearing thin or maybe it has even worn out all together.
Life is like this we can become so attached to familiarity and the common that we never really step into something new. Our soul may be suffering because of our unwillingness to change.
Even though the new will be better for us, it can be scary stepping out into something unfamiliar, but it can also be the greatest decision we will ever make.
I just want to encourage anyone who is at a crossroads to take that step, follow God put those new shoes on that He has for you and see how your soul soars.
That is what I have decided to do. Won’t you step out with me into this wonderful life Christ died for us to have?
