Review: The Devil's Ride by K.A. Merikan

Ah, I think I've discovered a new kink/trope...all these bikers (yup there's a post on this coming your way, I think...)

But, onto the review!

It took me longer than I'd like, to realise that the second book in the Sex & Mayhem series was out – but when I did realise it, I was all grabby hands *_*

I adored Luci! I loved that contrast between 'seen too much' with the innocence that was never completely erased from him. Also, I'm a sucker for family bonds and the way Luci was slowly given a family back, with his brother and sister, with Priest, it just melted me.

Then of course you have Tooth.

Well hell. Perfect combination – seriously. Tooth needed a Luci in his life and vice versa.

K.A. Merikan took this one slow. I appreciated the grooming sessions, the near kisses, just the weight of attraction whenever Luci so much as looked at Tooth. Perhaps because of the first book's complete intolerance on the MC's part towards homosexuality, I was able to relax more and enjoy this one, although the subjects in this book are not soft and pretty either. Murder, organs trafficking, sexual abuse and suicide. Not really for the fainthearted…

Is it really twisted of me that I liked Tooth's speciality? That would put serious fear into anyone. But I think that's what I loved most about the novel – the twistedness of it. Not in like, the same way a horror novel might be twisted, but instead in because it was just the norm for these guys. But all the dark themes just seem right at home here and added to the world that belonged to these men and women.

My heart did take a hard kick though. Oh Bell : (

I can't wait to read the next in the series. K.A. Merikan said there might be some cameos in future books and I would really love to see some familiar faces from The Devil's Ride :P

Give this one a go ;)

You could even get it and read it this weekend...?

Have a great weekend all :)
