Say Hello to Kit MacLean, Girl Incredible! (And enter to win!)
I am so excited, I can barely stand it.
As you know, our darling Syd is on hiatus while my publisher rebrands the series and gives her a new dress to wear (in process of cover design right now–I’ll share as soon as I’m able!). I can’t tell you how sad I was, despite the fact I knew this was the perfect choice for her, to get her out there into the world, to increase her exposure.
In the meantime, I was feeling a little like a mom who had sent her daughter off to college. Despite having some awesome projects on the go, nothing stirred my heart like Syd. So, after wallowing a little, I decided it was time to focus on a new character, someone who wouldn’t replace my beloved Hayle witch, but who could at least fill the gap for a while.
You’ve heard the term be careful what you wish for? Kit MacLean came stomping into my life in her big black boots and made me laugh, cry, want to hug her. Totally different than any character I’d ever met, she was a breath of fresh air and a bubbly bundle of energy who drew me in and has informed me, in her cheerful way, she has at least sixteen books to share.
Girl Incredible is the beginning of that journey. I had so much fun writing it, so many feels… Kit truly is incredible and I hope you enjoy the first of her series:
