Did you make that?

by Stephanie Beck

About once a week, in the course of my daily life, I’ll hear “Did you make that?” Usually the answer is, yes, because I’m a crafty chick and make lots of things.

I make scarves, hats, cookies, cakes, crafts, socks, gifts, horrendous messes…and stories.

Yep, I make stories. On Valentine’s Day I had the great fun of attending a book signing with a group of other authors. It was so much fun to be with a group of writers and readers who enjoyed the romance genre. It also gave me a chance, a real, tangible time to say, Hey, I made this.

As much as I adore ebooks, and I do, there’s something so special in holding a book I spend hours and hours and hours into, and being able to say, I made this. And then to sign it over to a fan…I made this…for you.

The moments like that for most authors are few and far between. Writing requires a lot of sitting and alone time. Sometimes it’s nice to take my books out for parade.

All the best,

Books on Parade?

I’ll be in Minneapolis this October with my books. It’ll be fun! You should be there, too. https://midwesternbookloversunite.wordpress.com/
