Bizarre developments in candy land.

This morning I got an email from a candy retail website requesting (in a not very nice way) that I remove a link in one of my posts. It was alleged that my link was hurting their SEOs.

Being cooperative and perhaps naive regarding the machinations of the internet, I complied, but also posted a sort of nasty riposte here on Candy Professor.

Then I got an email from the candy retail website, the CEO with whom I’ve corresponded before, requesting that I remove that post  because the original threatening email WAS NOT in fact from the candy site. They suspect sabotage by competitors.

Little me, caught in the cross fire. My faith in humanity was bruised by the first act, and demolished by the second. I’m putting everything back the way it was, and minding my own business from here on out. The whole episode makes me want to flee to Siberia and live in an internet-free yurt.
