One Book, One Community

Janet Hepburn Flee Fly FlownI am pleased to announce that librarians in Lanark County have chosen Flee, Fly, Flown as the title novel for the 2015 One Book, One Community program. Titles for the One Book, One Community program were nominated by residents at their local libraries in December 2014. Choices were then narrowed down to two titles, which were voted on by community members at their libraries in January. Read the official announcement here.

About the One Book, One Community Project

One Book, One Community is a library-initiated project that encourages all residents to come together through the shared experience of reading the same book. Through this experience, the community is able to explore a topic in a variety of venues, creating conversation about important and complex issues. The One Book program in October 2015 will be the first in Lanark County and is a joint project among the libraries of Carleton Place, Smiths Falls, Perth, Lanark Highlands, and Mississippi Mills, plus community partners.

Thanks Cathy. It was an honour and great fun as the people in Lanark County were wonderful - so engaged and their hospitality was warm and welcoming.
