Next Goodbye Place

Johnson Space Center is the reason I moved to Clear Lake - starry-eyed, engineering degree in hand:

While there, I mostly worked in Flight Design - designing space shuttle arrivals to and separations from different payloads and also the space station (long before it was known as the International Space Station) using computer programs and real-time simulations. I also spent time in Crew Training, and I have a geeky photo from that time that I will not post (yet? never?).

Instead, here's a photo I stumbled over in the garage a few weeks ago, bringing back memories of non-working NASA times. We had an annual picnic, which was great fun, and for some reason that eludes me now I was asked to be in the dunking booth with astronaut Dan Brandenstein (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Brandenstein ). I barely remember this day, but I think I'm worried about who's about to throw balls at us. Dan looks blissfully unconcerned. Of course, he flew rockets to outer space:

I was at JSC a long time - & it's been a huge part of my life. I drive past the center every day & have many dear friends who still work there. NASA really did change my life, and I'm appreciative.
