Actually, Matched & some Melissa Marr books are the only ones I've read. I've been meaning to check out Grave Mercy, and Born Wicked is sampled on my Kindle...way far back from near when it was released, so it got buried. I'll check some out.I also suffer from too many TBR books that I feel guilty not reading before buying new books. Also ones I've started but I'm not feeling in the middle of, like the one I'm writing a review for right this second, which I refused to not finish before starting something else, but was so bored by.

So, first off, I'd like to point out that you may never feel like you did about HP again, simply because of age and the fact that there's already been an HP for you.
However, I too had the experience with The Selection and I know exactly the sensation you mean. Have you read Matched? Very similar to me, I guess, but The Selection was sexier. How about Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood? You might also enjoy Grave Mercy. What about Melissa Marr's books? Also, in terms of a problematic book that will stay in your brain anyway: Venom, by Fiona Paul.
Also, you may have seen that I just finished "The Assassin's Curse"... not sure you'd fall in love with it, but it has a lady pirate and an angsty assassin and it's a romp.
You read much, much more than anyone I know, so I'm sure you've read these already. I'll keep thinking.
