Irish Ghost Stories for St. Patrick's Day

What is St. Patrick's Day without an Irish ghost story? So what authors come to mind? J. Sheridan LeFanu is a must read. "Narrative of the Ghost of a Hand" is one you've probably not read. Free read and audio:

And ... to be really Irish, take a look at Bram Stoker's "The Night at the Shifting Bog" a little romantic thriller set in Ireland that Stoker wrote in 1890.

Werner Paula, even though I'm not as well-read in ghost stories as I'd like to be, I have read "The Ghost of a Hand" (to give it the title Roald Dahl uses). I found it in Roald Dahl's Book of Ghost Stories.

Actually, it's part of a longer story cycle by Le Fanu, serially published in 1861 as "The House by the Churchyard." A couple of installments (including this one) appear in Best Ghost Stories of J. S. Le Fanu, under the title "Ghost Stories of the Tiled House."

Paula Cappa Thank you, Werner. I have House by the Churchyard on my list of to-reads.
