Someone Else's Eyes --revised
I'm looking out someone else's eyes.
My vision is foggy, perhaps only because
you fogged up my glasses when you
pressed your forehead to mine and we
breathed together in the silence. That
silence brought tears to my eyes.
I'm looking out someone else's eyes.
My tears cloud my vision, perhaps
only because you knew it was time to
hug me when I rested my head on your
shoulder to hide my face. I wished
I could hide my frown from you.
I'm looking out someone else's eyes.
My face is contorted with a frown
I'm not used to wearing, perhaps only
because I never smiled so much
before you came into my life. I thought
everything would be simple, then.
I'm looking out someone else's eyes.
My mind never thought this way before,
perhaps only because I have fallen
in love with you. You and I were
perfectly happy before you
disappeared from my life.
I'm looking for someone else's eyes.
Yours are no where to be found, perhaps
only because it's as hard for you to look
at me as it is hard for me to look at you.
I'll always love you though.
