I just received the first printed edition of the last book in the Danish space opera series (Livets Barske lektie) I have been working on for almost ten years. The first came out in 2008 and I was very excited back then. Maybe I expected the excitement to wear off as more and more books with my name on it made it to my shelf. It didn’t! Thankfully!

Receiving this last copy made me think back of all the things I put my characters through plus their development as well as mine. It’s both a joy and a very sad feeling, as I have lived with these characters for so long—and now our journey has come to an end. We accomplished our goals and reached our destination.

Having told my fans that it is the last book in the series being published on April first, I have had fans write me that they seriously hope it is an Aprils-fool! I’m sorry to disappoint, and we didn’t even think of the date when it was picked.

A new book is taking form—craving my undivided attention. I look forward to working with these new characters and all the people who are on my team to get it ready. These guys are gold! I hope my fans will be equally excited about it once finished and ready.
