I have taken to crowd-funding to help with the editing and development cost of my upcoming book, R.A.V.E.N.S. And I am asking for your donations.

About the book

R.A.V.E.N.S. is a lesbian fictional novel that is currently in development. At the time of this project, the novel is just over 18K words. The story centers around a team of super crime fighters, who are using vigilante justice to make the city safer.

The book is the first of a series featuring these sexy crime fighting ladies featuring all the things that we love in a book like this: guns, fighting, sex, spies.

Why Crowd-funding on a novel?

Independent authors, using services such as Amazon POD and ebooks, don’t make a lot of money with their novels. A 99 cent download only brings in 35 cents per download. Any POD paperback sold is still only about 35% of cover price. The amount of books that need to be sold just to break even on what the costs are is almost unheard of from independent authors. This is why many authors are taking to crowd-funding in order to bring awareness to the book as well as themselves.

What will the fund go to?

Producing a book is a lot more than just writing a story. Your funds with go toward the following items

Editing – As a writer, I can proof my book as much as possible; but it takes another eye to find the plot holes, the grammar errors, and all the other things I missed creating wonderful characters.

Design – No one really wants a PDF of my story. The design inside and out are key elements that make a successful book, especially on a book such as R.A.V.E.N.S.

Any money left over will go towards promotion, promotional copies, and marketing.

What’s there to lose?

Honestly, nothing. I have already successful released 6 books via Amazon’s POD and ebook services. My most recent book “girl/Mistress” debuted in the Top 100 in both Kindle and Books in the Lesbian Fiction category. With R.A.V.E.N.S. already a third of the way written, I should be able to finish the first draft of the novel by the end of the campaign.
