When I read a "who done it" type story I try to solve the case before the ending then peek to see if I'm right.

The only time I look at the end is when I fear that one of my favorite character will end up dead or if there are any animals in the book.... it is petty but I will not finish a book if the animals do not live! The rest of the time I want it to be a surprise.

Killing off likeable characters turns off readers, too. Thank you for the comments.

I would NEVER skip to the end of a novel to determine 'who done it'.That would defeat the purpose of reading the book, and much, much worse than eating the frosting first.
