She did not run. Even when she heard the footsteps following her into the woods. The trees seemed to wrap around her. Enclosing her inside of the darkness. Like a coffin.She stopped on a hill that during the day, if you climbed the tree growing tall above it, you could see the whole town. Funny the things you treasure when you know you’re about to die.“I never trusted you.” Sarah’s voice cut through the quiet. “I always knew you would betray us.” Roselyn turned to face her. She was leaning nonchalantly against a tree. Her arms crossed. A gun dangling in her left hand. “You know, I could kill you right now if I wanted to. But what fun would there be in that?” Sarah chuckled. “Oh yes.” She put the safety on the gun. “First, I’m going to have a little entertainment.” She advanced on her. The moon was high in the sky.
