The Playlist

Hear a song on the radio, and suddenly you're cruising around town in your first car, dancing at a party, reliving the memory of when you first or most vividly heard that song.

A number of 80s hits were hot on my list when the first moment of A Crushing Arrangement was born. Those don't necessarily reflect on anything more than which Billboard CDs had most recently been added to my collection. By the time I “put pen to paper,” I was pulling up deeply romantic songs (think Elton John’s “Something About the Way You Look Tonight”). The louder the speakers, the better. Other, newer items were added as the years continued, whether for the mood or the lyrics. At the heart of this playlist, however, are the songs named below. I can hear this music just about anywhere and be instantly transported to Gabi and Joel's world.

Happy listening! ♥

- Let’s Make a Night to Remember, Bryan Adams
- Total Eclipse of the Heart, Bonnie Tyler
- Ma Na’ase, Hadag Nahash (the long version)
- Come What May, Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman
- It Is You (I Have Loved), Dana Glover
- With a Little Love, Bryan Adams
- Give Me Your Eyes, Brandon Heath (maybe not appropriate for a Jewish love story, oh well)
- Get Back Up, TobyMac
- Love the One You’re With, Stephen Stills (Isley Brothers version also acceptable)
