Our number one rule of thumb for classic retellings is to think WAY outside the box, which is why I’m intrigued by the description of Patricia Park’s debut novel, Re Jane, a modern retelling of Charlotte Bronte’s Victorian Gothic romance. In Park’s version, a Queens native of Korean descent takes an au pair job in Brooklyn working for “Ed and Beth” (the novel’s version of Edward and Bertha).
Here’s an interesting interview Park gave Steph Cha for the L.A. Times. – Amy
