My mother gave me my birth, but Emilie Conrad gave me my life.   Emilie, founder of Continuum, was my dear friend, teacher and mentor. This bold and beautiful, wildly artistic, keenly articulate, somatic visionary taught me how to fully inhabit the sensations of my body and to fall in love with my gesture.  She taught me how to expand my sense of myself beyond the confines of culture, gender, and family story.  She encouraged me to love counterpoint and seeming opposites, and to ride the fluid
