Don't Forget Me - 4

Laura Jean is so confused

And somewhat scared, all told;

How can she be young again,

But remember growing old?

Henry watches his true love

Stand motionless, in thought

She finally asks him, "Are we dead?"

He laughs, "No, love. We're not."

"We get to do it all again,

Don't you understand?

We can fix all our mistakes

And make our life more grand!"

You don't want the future, love,

Back there we're old and gray,

Your memory will start to fade

And then take you away."

"But Henry, you can't change the past

Without some consequence,

You're the one who told me that,

Well, you will... fifteen years hence."

"But see it doesn't matter,

Because no one knows we're here.

If we stay just long enough,

To the past we'll disappear."

"But what if I don't want to go?

What if my life was fine?

Why do it all again, when we

Have had our chance to shine?

Henry's stunned. He's no idea

What he's supposed to do.

"But," he says, in a low voice,

"I did all this for you..."
