Henry steps back through the years
And to the present day,
His heart is heavy, and he's lost --
Where did he go astray?
If she opts not to follow him,
There's nothing he can do,
So how to make her realize
They need to see this through?
He steps out of the time machine,
Gives his legs a stretch,
And heads toward the other room
Where his wife he'll fetch.
Something's wrong: the door is locked,
And she's not there inside.
Did she wake up cold and scared,
And find a place to hide?
He runs to the reception desk
To see where she has gone;
"I'm sorry sir, but your appointment
Was not for two, but one.
I'm sure you're feeling most confused
(An unpleasant side effect),
Would you like to sit, and take
A moment to collect?"
Oh no... oh God, what have I done?
Where's my Laura Jean?
How did she get out of here
Without her being seen?
He wracks his brain to figure out
What fate she did befall,
And realizing what he has done,
He slowly starts to bawl.
