So, it’s been over a year since this started. It’s now 61,000 words, 179 typed pages. The Mega is Kick-Ass meets John Green. It’s about a lot of things, but to me, at the heart of it is a story about loving where you’re from, and who you are at moments throughout your life. I think that’s always been a challenge for me: to see self-worth and growth even when I wasn’t at my best.

Today, the first copy of The Mega will exist in the world (even though it’s just a printed manuscript) – I couldn’t be more excited to tell this story.

The final step is to put the book into proofreading, which will be done by some amazing and helpful people.

This has been a true journey to try to tell a story that’s really close to my heart. I’m sad that part of the journey is over, because so much has happened since I first outlined this book with pen and paper. But then there’s a whole other part of this journey, one that’s just starting.
