My first YA, Ash & Bramble, is not really a retelling of a fairytale, it’s more an exploding of it. Cinderella has amnesia. The Godmother is the bad guy. The Prince is a mediocre kisser. The Shoemaker is … kind of cute, actually. And a happily-ever-after is the worst possible ending.
