Werner Apart from the two Civil War stories you mentioned, I haven't read much by Bierce; but I've read and liked two of his short stories in the weird fiction vein. "Moxon's Master" is an experiment in science fiction that belies the regnant technophilic optimism of the genre in his time; and "The Middle Toe of the Right Foot" is one that I'd recommend to any fan of the ghost story tradition. I need to read Ghost and Horror Stories of Ambrose Bierce one of these days!

Paula Cappa The Middle toe of the Right Foot? I'll have to add that to my list, Werner. Thanks.
