What a delicious idea for a blog! My first experience with macarons was spotting a tower of them at a bridal fair as we were planning my daughter's wedding. We both loved the idea. She was able to find a baker and placed an order to give them as guest favors, two to a package. Things were going so well . . . until the day before the wedding when we picked up the order of 300 loose macarons - no packaging! Uh-oh! Plan B involved mother of bride, mother of groom, grandmother of groom, and a few others to gather some supplies and spend an hour and a half on a little macaron assembly line in one of our hotel rooms. We got them packaged, placed them in a decorative basket, and positioned the basket where guests would be sure to see them. Great plan, right? Except someone moved the basket and we didn't find it until most guests had left. And yes, it was still mostly full of 300 macarons. We gave away as many as we could the next morning as our guests were leaving the hotel. Needless to say there were some very happy guests with armloads of macarons as they headed home.

‘This is Paris, you need to stuff your face with macarons until you cannot breathe.’
