Christopher Carter My most sincerest and heartfelt condolences go to Miss Collins family. My husband passed away in January of this year and Miss Collins was his top favorite author. Her passing is doubly difficult for me because I feel another piece of him has gone with her passing. I hope that they get to meet and exchange smiles.

message 8: by Tea (new)

Tea Garner When I was 13 years old and I would be grounded for something, my mom would take away my TV and stereo. I was fine because I loved to read. However, I did not read teenage stuff like Sweet Valley High. I read VC Andrews and Jackie Collins. Jackie Collins novels were better than any TV soap, including her sister's show Dynasty. I continued to read Jackie Collins throughout my teen years to my adult years. Her novels were pure escapism and "trash" but damn they were good. As a fat nerd who preferred to read than to go out and play with bullies, Jackie Collins was one of the authors who gave me a great escape. Rest in peace Ms. Collins, you are one of the best.

Bancha Thank you, Jackie Collins, for taking me into worlds that I would never have found my way into, tickling my imagination beyond all expectations, and making my mom gasp in comedic horror when she read a few pages of the books I was absorbed in starting at the ripe age of 15....what delicious fun you have brought me! You will be missed.
