I am on a 5:30 AM plane headed north to the next leg of my Appalachian Trail adventure. Many of you have asked to be included in my “daily” trail log, and it’s that time again.

If you would like to be removed from this list for the next 12 days, just reply to me and I will pull your name off. Please do not “reply to all” during that response.

I will be hiking all of the trail in New Jersey, New York and much of Connecticut during the next 12 days.  It should be a cool (and wet) colorful fall in the mid-Atlantic and New England area. I’ve always wanted to do a fall hike in the north.

Lord willing, I will cover as much as 200 miles on this trip, en route to a July 2018 summit of the terminus at Mount Katahdin  in Maine. Thanks for all of your prayers and encouragement.
