Inspiration
I have received several messages asking what some of my inspiration for writing the book was. Well, in all honesty, it was something I had wanted to do for quite some time. I had started writing a very similar book years ago, had about 75 pages complete, when life happened and my WIP (work-in-progress) began to collect dust.
During late 2014, I found myself laid-up for several months with a serious surgery. Just when boredom, and cabin fever were sure to set in, I remembered the original book I had set out to write. Upon reading my previous WIP, new ideas and directions for my book began to formulate. I decided to scrap the original, and write a shiny-brand-new one...
... And the rest is history? Not quite.
My love of wolves and Nordic mythology allowed me a new twist on the war between "werewolves" and "vampires". For those of you who have not yet read "In Darkness and In Light", I assure you there is no bloodsucking (except perhaps for a teeny tiny bit during a steamy scene)... and no changing 'neath the light of the full moon. I used my knowledge of Nordic mythology to impart a new twist on this basic idea.
Beyond this, and my crazy, fantasy-driven mind, there was of course music. Music inspired several scenes, along with emotional drama between characters. For those of you, who care to listen, I will post THE playlist that got me through... so check back soon!
And as always, thanks for reading!
